TEAS Test Day: What to Bring, What Is Provided, and What Catches People Out

Nothing on this list is difficult. Every item on it has cost somebody an attempt.

Pass with confidence.

Evidence-based strategies, clear plans, and smart practice that fit your life.

The exam itself is the part you have prepared for. What derails people on the day is logistics, and all of it is avoidable.

Bring

  • Government-issued photo identification with a name that matches your ATI account exactly. A middle initial that appears on one and not the other has turned people away.
  • Your ATI login. Know the email and password, not the browser that remembers them.
  • The confirmation with your session time and location, and the room number if there is one.

Do not bring, or expect to store

Phones, smart watches, bags, notes, food and your own calculator. Most sites provide a locker; some do not allow bags in the building at all. Check the confirmation email rather than assuming.

The calculator is provided

TEAS 7 supplies a four-function calculator on screen. You do not bring one, and you may not use your own. Practise with a basic four-function calculator rather than a scientific one, because the habits are different and the exam will not give you the buttons you have been relying on.

A provided calculator removes arithmetic risk and leaves setting up the problem as the real test. Most maths marks are lost deciding what to calculate, not calculating it.

Timing rules that surprise people

Sections are timed individually and close when the time expires. You cannot carry unused minutes forward, and you cannot go back to a section once it ends. There is normally a short optional break, usually after Mathematics; take it, because Science is next and it is the longest section.

If you are testing remotely

Remote proctoring adds requirements that are easy to fail on the morning: a working webcam and microphone, a room scan, a clear desk, no second monitor, and nobody entering the room. Run the system check the day before, not an hour before. A borrowed laptop with a locked-down work profile is the classic way to lose a session.

The evening before

Do not sit a full practice exam the night before; you will arrive tired and it changes nothing. Review your weak-topic list, pack your identification, confirm the location, and sleep. Stamina matters more than the last few facts.

If the exam is still weeks away, the better use of tonight is the six-week plan.
